That to one side, and last weeks weirdness carefully place in an empty box, it was in fairness a productive one. I have been busy getting together the old Christmas stock. Not as much as I would have hoped, but as with everything, I should be grateful I got a handful of things done right?
There are 3 lovely looking bottle bags sitting very close to me right now... the down side? The photos I took on my phone this morning before leaving Derby are fuzzy, out of focus and just generally bad quality. So rather than put my name to shame, as I am off on Wednesday I will make sure to take to snaps to show you all. Even after spending some time with our friend, PicMonkey... nope. Really not doing those bags any justice!
So then there was project number two. Some little heart decorations just for a tree. No buttons, no beads, no sequins, just lovely materials. Plain and simple. As I do a lot of work with felt these are a little different for me. They aren't prefect, but I am quite impressed! Just need to trim the cord on the gingham guys.
Then there was a chainmaille marathon. My sisters birthday was on Friday so it was a quick couple of nights away from London up to Derby to see the family. So I thought I would make her a lovely champagne and pink chainmaille bracelet (which I stupidly forgot to snap). I then got a little carried away as I then made a white and blue necklace in the same style. I have yet to get pics of that as I could do with clearing the work surfaces to get a good shot. Another later in the week job. But then to top it off I had some pink rubber O rings which were just crying out to be used... so here is a pic of that :)

Enough of the woes though. Today sees us into another Handmade Monday. You know the rules. If you haven't checked it out, you need to check it out. If you don't? There may be some virtual stick poking ;)
I've had my fair share of fuzzy and out of focus photos. It's even worse when they look ok on the camera but turn out bad when loaded onto the computer.
ReplyDeleteI quite like those hearts since I prefer plain and simple designs.
The necklace is really great, veyr clever and I love the hearts. Thank you for being my guest blogger - I really enjoyed your post. Hope you ahve a good week.
ReplyDeleteI upgraded my phone to a samsung galaxy ace thingy (I just choose it because it came with a purple case) but discovered that the camera is really good. Really really good.
ReplyDeleteSo I got to spend the money I had been saving to buy the new fancy camera on turquoise and lapis lazuli instead and not feeling guilty at all.. Hurrah,. now I have no excuse not to photograph everything a little bit better than before. I love the blog by the way. Joanna x
your hearts are so cute! sometimes simple is definitely the right way to go i think, especially when you have such pretty fabric to show off :)
ReplyDeleteyour pink bracelet is also gorgeous and so beautifully made :)
i hope that the coming week is an improvement on its predecessor! x
Love the hearts and the bracelet too. I think sometimes less is more x
ReplyDeleteThe hearts definitely work just as they are. The fabric and the shape is perfect without anything else added!
ReplyDeletevery unusual chainmail bracelet - love it :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about photos. I'm sometimes too impatient to wait for decent light, but it doesn't pay to put out poor quality images does it - i admire your restraint
ReplyDeleteI love the hearts. Very pretty
ReplyDeleteThe bracelet looks so complicated to make, it looks great I bet your sister loved her one.
ReplyDeleteYour hearts are simply pretty and what a unique bracelet. I love the use of the pink rubber 'o' rings :)
ReplyDeleteI can't seem to get on with taking photo's on my phone, so I stick with my Sony camera. I find it annoying too, when the photo's look great on the camera, but terrible on the computer.
ReplyDeleteI like the simplicity of your heart's and the bracelet is very different.
I am constantly striving to get good pics, it's a nightmare. I love your chainmaille....I really want to learn that weave, but it continues to elude me, despite looking at oodles of tutorials.
ReplyDeleteLiking the look of what you have manged to capture. The hearts are clean, pretty and simple and the bracelet intricate and pretty :).
ReplyDeleteLove the hearts and the bracelet is unusual, good luck with the pic's something I am always striving to be better at.
